Dr. Gordon Lambert, a man of immense compassion, optimism, energy and wit, who for all his working life had dedicated himself to the medical profession as an anaesthetist, sadly passed away on 7 April 2004, aged 61, having been diagnosed eight months previously with the brain tumour glioblastoma multiforme. The trauma of this loss has been great for his wife, Evelyn, and children, Paul and Claire, but, inspired by Gordon's positivity and go-getting spirit, they have resolved to set about raising money and awareness for SDBTT, in the hope that people in future may have a happier outcome thanks to SDBTT-funded research.
Paul and Claire walked the full length of Hadrian's Wall in April, starting shortly after the anniversary of their father's death and ending on his birthday (14 April). They sought sponsorship for this and have plans for other fund-raising events which will be announced on this site in due course.

On Saturday 13th October 2007 members of the public are invited to enjoy a day of driving skills development. The event has been made possible owing to the generosity of Prodrive, The I.M.Group (inc.Subaru) and Driver Development Programme. The primary objective of the day is to raise funds for brain tumour research and consequently all monies received or pledged on the day will be channelled directly into SDBTT Dr Gordon Lambert Fund for research. The secondary objective is to provide participants with a day of fun and learning in a safe environment (provided by Prodrive), enabling everyone to explore their driving skills behind the wheel of some serious vehicles (supplied by I.M.Group) in the company of top class performance-driving instructors (from Driver Development Programme).
